International Women’s Day 2021 celebrated

08/03/2021: International Women’s Day was celebrated today at Govt. Women Polytechnic Srinagar. It is observed globally by celebrating the social, economic, cultural and political achievements of women.
The students and faculty members of this institution actively participated in the event.
Mr. Manzoor Ahmad Kumar, Principal Women Polytechnic recognized the responsibilities shared by the women folk all around. He also shared his views about the status women hold and issues & challenges they face in the name of gender discrimination, bias or stereotypes and how we can address them collectively for the betterment of the society. Mr. Junaid Geelani, Academic Coordinator, Mrs. Nusrat Jan, HOD, OMCA, Mrs. Samarah Shakeel I/C Food Technology Arifa Javaid 3rd Sem E&C, Omaniya Han 3rd Sem E&C, Muneera Zainab 1st Sem OMCA Nadiya Qadir 1st Sem MLT Shazia Gul, 1st Sem Garment Technology Afshana 3rd Sem E&C and Falakin Nazir 3rd Sem OMCA also spoke during the event.
The event centered around the ideas of women empowerment and how they play an important role in building up a society in general.
